A. Tujuan Pembelajaran: Setelah membaca materi pembelajaran ini, siswa dapat mengenali ungkapan-ungkapan penting yang lazim di dalam menulis surat pribadi.
B. Uraian Materi:
Sesuai dengan judul sub materi Writing Personal Letter ini, maka pada uraian berikut ini akan disajikan ungkapan-ungkapan yang sudah lumrah digunakan oleh para penulis surat pribadi ketika mereka menulis surat. Ungkapan-ungkapan itu tentu saja berbeda-beda sesuai dengan tujuan dari surat pribadi itu dibuat. Ada 6 (enam) ungkapan yang diuraikan disini satu persatu, yaitu: gratitude, giving advice, delivering good news, delivering bad news, asking for help, and apologizing.
